The best pump is crucial when inflating your stand-up paddle board (SUP). If you prefer a manual pump, the best manual SUP pump can increase your board in around ten minutes, depending on its size. However, an electric paddleboard pump is a way to go if you prefer a quicker and easier option. An electric pump can inflate your SUP just as quickly as a manual pump but without the physical strain of doing it yourself.

Inflatable paddle boards are often used by younger or older kayakers who may find manually pumping them challenging. An electric pump is also an excellent choice if you plan to use your SUP for yoga or meditation, as it can save you the time and effort required to inflate it manually.

Different types of pumps are available in the market, including the best pump for SUP or the best electric pump for an inflatable paddle board. Electric pumps can help you quickly and easily inflate and deflate your board, ensuring you can pack it up tightly at the end of the day. Some electric pumps are portable, and you don't need a vehicle to use them.

Electric pumps are superior to manual pumps in almost every respect and are available for less than $150. There are a plethora of choices available in the market when it comes to electric pumps. To help you make an informed decision, we have compiled a list of the seven best electric pumps for inflating paddle boards, including the best inflatable paddle board pump and the best stand-up paddle board pump.

Electric SUP Pump & Electric Paddle Board Pumps

Electric SUP Pump & Electric Paddle Board Pumps

The right pump is essential for inflatable stand-up paddle boards (SUPs). While a manual pump can inflate your board quickly, younger or older kayakers may find it challenging, and it may not be the best option if you're looking for a stress-free experience. This is where electric paddle board pumps come in, and they are the best option for inflating SUPs quickly and easily.

An electric pump is as fast as a manual pump but without physical exertion. They also assist in deflation, ensuring all the air is removed and the board is packed up tightly at the end of the day. Some electric pumps are smaller and more lightweight than manual pumps, making them easier to pack and transport. With the added benefit of an integrated or portable battery, some electric pumps can even be used without being close to a vehicle.

Many electric pumps are available on the market, but the good news is that most of them cost less than $150. To help you make the right choice, we've compiled a list of the top 7 recommended electric pumps for inflatable paddle boards, including the best pump for stand-up paddle boards and SUP inflatable pumps. With this list, you can easily find the best electric pump for SUP that suits your needs and budget.

Air Pump For Stand-Up Inflatable Paddle Board, OutdoorMaster Shark

Product tested by Board and Kayak

Things we like:

  • Rapid and continuous inflation: While other electric pumps require a break after inflating just two stand-up paddleboards, the Sportsmaster can boost three SUPs in a row before recharging. Because it has a rapid two-stage inflation procedure, using this pump to inflate a stand-up paddleboard takes between 8 and 12 minutes.
  • The OutdoorMaster Shark is built to last and has an extended guarantee. Its components fit snugly together, and it has a filter that sits atop the fan to help keep sand and other tiny things from entering. If something goes wrong, the Shark also has a guarantee valid for one year and covers any manufacturing flaws and accidents.
  • Long power cord and hose: The power cable length is 9 feet, while the size of the hose itself is 4 feet and 6 inches. Due to the hose's ability to be both flexible and durable, inflating your stand-up paddleboard won't require you to position it uncomfortably next to your vehicle. Instead, you can easily connect it to the air compressor.

Things we don't like:

  • A little amount. While testing and evaluating the Shark II Air SUP pump, we have not encountered anything we would classify as a "negative" thus far.

After four months of testing and going back and forth between many different electric pumps, we have finally settled on the Outdoor Master Shark II Air Pump as our new top-rated stand-up paddleboard (SUP) pump. Compared to its first iteration, known as the Shark I, the Shark II incorporates what the manufacturer calls the "Shark Cooling System," which helps keep the pump from becoming too hot. After conducting several experiments, we discovered that we could pump up more stand-up paddle boards in succession with the Shark II than any other electric pump. At first, we weren't sure whether or not this cooling system would be of any assistance. We have not experienced any concerns with the pump's longevity and are pleased with its other features.

This twin-stage automated electric pump has a maximum pressure of 20 PSI and can typically inflate a stand-up paddleboard (SUP) in 8 to 12 minutes. The OutdoorMaster Shark II air pump comes with a pluggable cable into a standard vehicle lighter; all you have to do is plug it in, and you can inflate one board after another.

The OutdoorMaster Shark II air pump features an easily grasped and comfortable side handle. Additionally, it is possible to wrap wires around the pump's exterior with relative simplicity. The location of the power cord divides the two nozzles that may be used to inflate or deflate your stand-up paddleboard (SUP). You will be able to see your PSI on the digital display built into the Shark air pump, and you will be able to adjust the maximum PSI allowed for your stand-up paddleboard. Automatic functions for both the two-stage operation and the shutdown ensure you won't leave the engine running excessively or overinflate your inflatable paddleboard. If you keep the pump cold, you will most certainly be able to inflate three paddleboards without taking a break (during our testing, we could do more than four). However, we do recommend exercising some degree of caution as well. Even though this pump has a guarantee that lasts for a whole year, it is still an excellent idea to let the Shark II cool down for a few minutes every two boards on days when the temperature is high to be safe.

Choose the OutdoorMaster Shark SUP if you need to simultaneously inflate many stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) in a row. This model allows for continuous inflation. Check the current price.

iROCKER 12 V Electric Pump:

Product tested by Board and Kayak
Our Overall Review
4.5

Things we like:

  • Quick inflation times: of the pumps that we tested, the iRocker had the most rapid inflation times.
  • Reliability and longevity: Despite being one of the pumps in our inventory that sees the most action, this one never fails to perform. Additionally, we adore that it has a guarantee valid for a whole year from iRocker.
  • Lightweight and Convenient: The pump weighs around the same as the iRocker or BLACKFIN twin chamber dual-action pump, yet, it occupies much less space than any of those pumps.
  • 20 PSI Limit. It is fantastic that iROCKER allows you to inflate up to 20 PSI for the occasional high-pressure paddleboard, even though you won't need to inflate most paddleboards to a pressure higher than 15 PSI.
  • When subjected to extreme heat, the thick hose will not melt.
  • The house isn't the most flexible we've ever seen, but the fact that we don't have to worry about it melting if it gets too hot is more than enough to compensate for its lack of flexibility.

Things we don't like:

  • After 20 minutes of continuous use, there is a minimum cool-down time of 30 minutes.

Electric Sup Pumps

The iROCKER 12 V battery-operated sump pump is number two on our list of preferred electric SUP pumps for 2022. The iRocker electric pump is one of our favorites for several reasons, but the fact that it can be relied upon is the most important. Since I started using this pump about a year ago, I haven't experienced a single problem with it, and it functions without any issues.

The iRocker electric pump has a maximum inflation pressure of 20 PSI and can often inflate a stand-up paddleboard in fewer than ten minutes. Out of the box, you can choose between two different power sources. Using the alligator clips, you may connect it to a regular vehicle lighter or straight to a 12 V battery. Lastly, this electric pump comes with a one-year guarantee from iROCKER, one of the most reputable SUP businesses and one of our top picks for firms to collaborate.

The iROCKER 12 V electric pump is small and box-shaped, making it ideal for storing and guarding your power cables while not in use. Keeping the wires away from each other will prevent them from getting tangled. This electric pump can inflate, deflate, and generally boost the sup board before resting. It is also capable of reducing boards. The digital LCD panel right below the operating buttons allows you to establish a limit for the PSI and track your progress. This electric pump also features an auto-cut-off function, ensuring you are constantly filling your stand-up paddleboard with the ideal quantity of air.Check out the iROCKER 12 V Electric Pump if you're looking for an electric pump that not only delivers speedy inflation but is also supported by one of the most recognized manufacturers in the industry.

NIXY Ventus iSUP Electric Pump:

Ventus SUP Pump
Our Overall Review
4.5

Things we like:

  • Integrated cooling mechanism to prolong longevity and keep the pump at an optimal operating temperature
  • If the pump begins to overheat, an automatic shutoff will occur.
  • A wide variety of nozzles, suitable for use with all kinds of inflatables
  • Automatic Two-Stage Function: The electric pump has an automated two-stage inflation procedure, rapidly and safely inflating your SUP to the desired PSI. Your paddleboard will be ready to use in about ten to fifteen minutes.
  • Included travel bag Use the included travel bag to store all your accessories, such as your power cables, hose, and pump, in one convenient location.
  • Other power choices are available, including connecting your electric pump to the 12-volt car battery via the alligator clips or plugging it into the lighter outlet on your vehicle. Multiple alternatives that are compatible with both modern and classic automobiles alke!

Things we don't like:

  • Like most other electric SUP pumps, the hose is prone to overheating. Even though it has a cooling mechanism, we still recommend using it in the shade (you may even use the cloth bag if necessary), as this will further limit the heat the pump and hose are exposed to.

NIXY has made some notable changes with their new Ventus Paddle Board Pump; these improvements are so outstanding that we were almost tempted to put it higher than #3 on our list. Nevertheless, we decided to stick with our original ranking. The fact that we've only had the pump for roughly three months is the sole explanation for why we haven't used it yet. Even though we have put it through a tonne of testing, we still want to ensure that it can last as long as the iRocker and the Outdoor Master have. But NIXY has added several features that I believe have the potential to be game changers in the market for electric stand-up paddle board pumps. The biggest problem with pumps is that so many burn out if you don't handle them properly, and NIXY has addressed this problem by adding these features.

The fact that the Ventus pump comes with something that they refer to as "Active cooling tech" is the feature that has fascinated and pleased us the most. The function of this is essential to allow the engine to cool down. As I indicated before, pumps tend to overheat; this function helps prevent that and will enable you to pump more boards.

It is pretty simple to put into use. Because you can adjust the PSI level to accommodate any board you choose, and it can go up to 20 PSI, it will function appropriately with any available board. Then, after you are through, you can wind the cord around the pump's base and tuck the entire pump inside the bag provided for you, which will keep the pump clean and protected. This pump is one of the few that comes with its bag that impresses us.

Using this electric pump, you can inflate your stand-up paddleboard in ten to fifteen minutes if you have the Ventus. Your NIXY Elite electric pump has a plug-in compatible with vehicle lighters and alligator clips that works with 12 V batteries for alternative power sources. You'll have a full year to put the NIXY Elite iSUP electric pump through its paces and ensure that it meets your needs with the help of the included warranty.

Automatically switching between rapid inflation at low PSI and more cautious inflation as the pressure in your inflatable SUP develops is made possible by the two-stage function of the NIXY Ventus electric pump two-stage function. The user can inflate or deflate the tire with two nozzles on the pump.

Atoll Bravo Two-Stage Electric Pump

Product tested by Board and Kayak
Our Overall Review
3.8

Things we like:

  • The Atoll pump is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, yet its construction is such that it won't break even if you unintentionally knock it over or drop it on the floor.
  • Carry Bag Included: You don't need to worry about attempting to cram it into one of the additional pouches that come with your SUP package. Make transporting your Bravo easier by using the carry bag that comes with it.
  • Simple and Fast Inflation: All you have to do is turn the Dial to the PSI you want, hit the button, and then sit back and let your electric pump do the work. The Atoll SUPs may be inflated with this electric pump in as little as 8 minutes.

Things we don't like:

  • 12 V Battery only: While it isn't difficult at all to open the hood of the vehicle, we hope that shortly, there will be a combo option available that includes alligator clips and a car outlet.
  • 14.5 PSI limit: This is a more compact electric pump designed specifically for smaller SUPs. If you have a more considerable SUP, it is strongly recommended that you check into other electric pumps instead.

The Atoll Bravo 2 Stage electric pump is an excellent choice for a tiny and compact pump. Because it is small and comes with a Bravo bag, this is a great pump if you need something easy to carry.

The Atoll Bravo electric pump has an autonomous two-stage pumping mechanism that swiftly inflates smaller boards to 14.5 PSI. The compact design of the pump makes this possible. For the Atoll Bravo to function, it is necessary to have a direct connection to a 12 V battery; however, the power cable is 9 feet and 10 inches long, so you do not need to keep it immediately next to your vehicle. In conclusion, besides a sleek shoulder bag that makes it simple to carry, the pump comes with a warranty from Atoll, another respected maker of inflatable paddleboards that is good for sixty days.

The Bravo 2 Stage Electric Pump does not have a carry handle, but given how compact and lightweight it is, you should have no trouble holding it in the palm of your hand, even if it does not have a handle. The Dial used to set the PSI limit is located directly above the pressure change, and the on and off switch is located directly below it for convenient access. Because of the feature of an automatic shutdown, you won't have to worry about the machine accidentally producing too much inflation either. On top, directly across from where the fan of the electric pump is placed, you'll find the two nozzles that control inflation and deflation. If you want the machine to be as effective as possible and allow the most significant amount of air to flow, you must ensure the fan is not blocked. Inflating one board after another without taking a break is incredibly crucial.

Choose the Atoll Bravo 2-Stage Electric Pump if you want a light, compact, and simple electric pump to transport.

SereneLife Rechargeable Pump (Best Rechargeable SUP Pump)

Product tested by Board and Kayak
Our Overall Review
4.6

Things we like:

  • Integrated Rechargeable Battery: To operate the Serenelife electric pump, you won't need to depend on a vehicle. If your battery is dead, you may use the power cord for the vehicle outlet included in the package, but if it is fully charged, you can blow up three to four paddleboards in succession without having to plug it in.
  • Carrying handle and carry bag: When transporting your electric pump over shorter distances, utilize the carry handle attached to it. Keep the pump and its other components in the travel bag that came with it for excursions that are more extended or for storage.
  • LED Flashlight: If you are attempting to walk or inflate in the dark, you won't need to rely on a flashlight or your car lights because you will have an LED flashlight. To turn on the LED flashlight, press the Button above your primary fan.

Things we don't like:

  • Extremely short hose: Placing your electric pump in the desired location is simply because the battery is incorporated. Because the hose is just 3.3 feet long, you must set your pump near your paddle board. The hose has some degree of flexibility, but if it is not positioned correctly, it might cause your electric pump to flip. Before you begin the inflation process, exercise caution when attaching and placing your pump.
  • 16 PSI Limit: Most paddleboarders can use this pump to inflate their boards successfully. However, specific inflatable SUPs exceed 16 pounds per square inch of pressure. We would appreciate it if the SereneLife Electric pump could increase its PSI limit to be suitable for a broader range of applications.

  • Weight: 4.85 lbs
  • The dimensions are 11.2 inches in length, 8.6 inches in width, and 7.7 inches in height.
  • 30-day warranty beginning on the date of purchase

There is the SereneLife Rechargeable Pump for optimum mobility if you want to trek with their iSUP and won't access a car. It's an excellent option for people in this situation! Because it has a built-in battery, connecting it to an external energy source is unnecessary to inflate your SUP.

The rechargeable pump from SereneLife has a maximum PSI of 16, making it appropriate for most paddle boards. The built-in rechargeable battery is what sets this different from similar products. It makes it possible for you to inflate your paddle board even without a vehicle battery or a 12 V battery. Suppose you neglect to give your battery a charge. In that case, you can always use the backup alternative of plugging it into a regular automobile lighter, just like most conventional electric pumps. The SereneLife Recharge Pump is a lightweight, portable electric pump that can fill most stand-up paddleboards in ten to fifteen minutes. In addition, the SereneLife Rechargeable pump comes with a 30-day trial period, during which you are free to test it out and send it back for a full refund if you decide you do not want to keep it.

If you prefer to carry it in your hand rather than on your back, the SereneLife rechargeable pump features a sleek carry handle that collapses with the pump. On the front of the pump, beneath the LCD, are nozzles for inflation and deflation. On the center of the pump are the nozzles for inflation and deflation. You can set your PSI and your remaining battery life with the LCD. You can also switch on the LED flashlights above the nozzles on the pump. The power wire that can be used for either recharging the device or connecting it to a car lighter may be concealed by the orange SereneLife flap or the carry bag included with the purchase. If you keep the battery covered and cold, it should be able to inflate three to four paddleboards on a single charge. However, you shouldn't increase more than two paddleboards in succession to prevent the engine from overheating.

The rechargeable pump from SereneLife is the perfect option if you want something portable that does not need to be powered by a vehicle.

Electric Pump For Surf And SUP From Thurso Electric:

Product tested by Board and Kayak
Our Overall Review
3.4

Things we like:

  • Choose the Thurso Surf electric pump if you need an electric pump that is lightweight and compact enough to fit straight into your stand-up paddleboard bag. The Thurso Surf manual pump weighs 2.6 pounds, the same as this item, but it comes in a considerably more compact container. Going electric with your paddleboard gear is the best way to reduce space in your SUP bag.
  • Inflation did quickly: despite its compact size, the Thurso Surf electric pump inflates your surfboard nearly as soon as many other electric pumps on the market. In about 6 minutes, it increased the Thurso Surf Water walker 126 to its maximum capacity. Despite only having one stage, it provides performance comparable to that of pumps with two locations.
  • The digital PSI reader isn't a significant feature, but it does make it easy to track and monitor the progress of your iSUP's inflation. The digital PSI screen displays the readings on the reader. Compared to dials made of glass, they are also more resistant to breaking and other forms of damage. Even though you should still handle your electric pump with care, you will have a lower risk of causing damage to the digital screen than the other dials and monitors.

Things we don't like:

  • The lack of a deflation nozzle makes it much simpler to deflate your paddle board using an electric pump, even though you can do it by hand. Even though this electric pump is noticeably more compact and utilizes only the most fundamental components, we would still want to see Thurso Surf produce an electric pump that can inflate and deflate the surfboard.
  • 15 PSI Limit: You will be able to inflate any Thurso Surf iSUP and a good number of other inflatable paddle boards available on the market when the pressure is set to 15 PSI. However, the Thurso Surf pump is not powerful enough to adequately inflate the larger inflatable SUPs.

In addition to its emerald green hue, you'll note that the Thurso Surf SUP electric pump features a single nozzle for dispensing air. The electric pump is more compact and lighter than its manual counterpart but cannot deflate stand-up paddleboards. Regarding the screen, the built-in light will make it simple to see in both bright and dark environments, which will assist you in adjusting and monitoring the PSI of your inflatable stand-up paddleboard (iSUP). You won't have trouble inflating two stand-up paddle boards quickly if you ensure the back air vent is exposed and keep the electric pump out of direct sunlight. The Thurso Surf electric pump contains a feature that allows it to switch off automatically after the necessary PSI has been reached. It reduces the likelihood of the device overheating.

Thurso Surf produces excellent inflatable stand-up paddleboards (iSUPs) and an ideal electric pump.

Reliable Companies: Choose Them For Your Electric Need:

Electric Paddle Pump

Electric Paddle Pump

There won't be a massive difference in performance between different electric air pumps designed for inflatable SUPs. Their forms will be somewhat other; some may inflate faster, and their maximum PSI capacities will change. However, the time they will endure and the quality of customer support you will receive will differ depending on the manufacturer you choose to work with. The aforementioned electric pumps are highly recommended by our team, not only due to their excellent performance but also because reputable paddle board firms manufacture them. Suppose none of those mentioned above electric pumps are appealing to you. In that case, however, we suggest you read reviews of the companies that make the electric pumps and evaluations of the electric pumps themselves.

In the end, though, electric pumps are a fantastic feature that will make your time paddle boarding much more enjoyable than it already is. Inflating your stand-up paddleboard (SUP) won't require much effort; as a result, you'll probably save some time in the process. Electric pumps are more compact and lighter than their manual counterparts, making it much simpler to transport your stand-up paddleboard gear. Lastly, each electric stand-up paddleboard pump discussed thus far has a function that allows you to deflate your paddle boards. When you are ready to travel back home, your commission will be empty and ready to be packed.

SUP Pump & Electric

SUP Pump & Electric

Due to the above reasons, we believe investing in an electric pump is the best investment for your stand-up paddleboard (SUP) gear; nevertheless, these pumps require special attention when used. Electric pumps are dependable, but if you do not properly care for either the pump or your stand-up paddleboard, you will not only spend time attempting to inflate your board but also run the risk of doing lasting harm. We strongly suggest reading the general advice below to maximize your electric pump's performance and avoid long-term damage. You are welcome to comment below or email us if you have any queries or want to learn more about paddleboards. Check this page regularly, as we will add new electric pumps periodically and update it with the latest information.

Important Advice Regarding Electric Paddle Board Pump:

Electric Paddle

Electric Paddle

Please ensure the Air Valve is Sticking Up before Inserting: Before you attach your hose, ensure that your air valve is secured in the closed position, which for most SUPs, looks like it's sticking up. As a result, you won't have any leaks in your hose. If you do this, inserting and twisting your hose will allow you to open the air valve and close it off without losing air; when you turn it back, remove it once you have finished inflating the item. If you do not do this, you will lose perspective when you twist your hose around and remove it after you have finished growing the thing. If you neglect this step, the pressure on your board may drop by 2-4 PSI, or even more, as you attempt to seal the open valve while simultaneously removing your hose. Before inserting the SUP into the water, you should always check to see that the air valve is in the up position.Be Cautious When Inflating Multiple Stand-Up Paddleboards in a Row: In typical conditions, most of the electric pumps you will find on the market can simultaneously inflate two stand-up paddleboards without the need for a break. Depending on the model of your electric pump, it may need to be turned off after growing a single SUP for up to thirty minutes if it is exposed to direct sunlight, operated on sweltering days, or has a fan system clogged with debris. Check the temperature of the electric pump after you have inflated your first stand-up paddleboard, paying particular attention to the areas around the hose and vents. If your electric pump is uncomfortable to touch or handle because it is too hot, it is unsuitable for inflating the next paddle board and should be replaced. Before moving on to the next panel, you should wait at least half an hour for the previous one to cool down. If you don't, the electric pump you're using can overheat, which might lead to temporary or permanent damage or even the complete failure of the pump.
 standard vehicle lighter

standard vehicle lighter

Use a tarp, a blanket, or a landing mat: When inflating your stand-up paddleboard, you should avoid direct contact with concrete and other hard surfaces. If you do, you run the risk of scratching the board while you're trying to inflate it. Even while sand and grass are better for stand-up paddleboards, paddling through them will get your board and the electric pump dirty and cause the internal motor to become lodged and jammed. As a result, before inflating your stand-up paddle board and pump, placing them on some cushion is usually recommended. A tarp and a blanket will work, but some SUP firms, like NIXY, provide their landing mats. These mats are not just the ideal size for your SUP but are also resistant to sand and water. When looking for an electric pump, if you don't already have a solution, we suggest you look at the NIXY landing mat or other SUP landing mats before making a purchase decision.Inflate to the maximum PSI allowed, but don't exceed that limit: Some air pump electric has a high pressure of 15 PSI, while others may reach 20 PSI. Although it is convenient to have the capacity to inflate your paddleboard to a PSI higher than 15, you should not exceed the maximum PSI that is suggested for your board. In general, the more PSI in an inflatable SUP, the better its performance will be; but, if it is overinflated, items might explode and shatter, leading your inflatable SUP to be damaged beyond repair. Check the recommended PSI on your inflatable paddle board (iSUP), and inflate it to the top limit advised by it, which is often in the region of 12-15 PSI.Many paddleboarders forget that they may use their electric pump to help deflate their SUPs because it is pretty simple to reduce by hand. However, paddleboarders can utilize their portable pump electricity to assist in the deflation process. Using your electric pump to deflate your SUP would be best since it can remove the remaining air you cannot remove by hand. Rolling up and transporting your inflatable paddleboard will be much simpler once it has emptied its contents. Because improperly deflating and storing a stand-up paddleboard can damage the board's form, using an electric pump will make your SUP last longer and extend its lifespan. If you have an electric pump, you should never forget to deflate your stand-up paddleboard.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an electric paddle board pump and how does it work?

An electric paddle board pump is a type of pump designed to inflate paddle boards automatically and with less effort than manual pumps. It typically uses a rechargeable battery and an electric motor to compress air and pump it into the board.

How does an electric paddle board pump compare to a manual pump?
