I'm Abigail Scott, an author, adventurer, and mother of three. When I'm not navigating the beautiful chaos of motherhood, you can find me tackling the turbulent waters as a professional whitewater kayaker or scaling impressive rock faces as a climbing guide. The rush of adrenaline, whether from kayaking or climbing, is a feeling I cherish deeply. But the thrill doesn't stop there; I capture the breathtaking allure of nature through my lens as a professional photographer. And when I'm not submerged in the wild, my software engineering skills amplify my outdoor pursuits, allowing me to harness technology in unique ways. Through my writings, whether articles or blog posts, I share not just my adventures but my heart, hoping to spark a flame of inspiration in others to break boundaries and experience the world's wonders.

Is there by chance a version that lets me use 4 rechargeable batteries instead of 3 alkaline? No.

Are lights us coast guard approved? No our portable marine lights are not Coast Guard approved.

How tall does the stern light get when extended all the way up? The pole and light extend to roughly 24" high.

In lieu of using the tape or screws, can one secure the lights with marine grade silicone? my kayak has a thermoformed abs finish which is very smooth. What I did was use marine pop rivets and put Silicone around everything including covering the rivets before I put them in and after they broke off I put more in the hole. But as for using silicone to hold them I don't know I would be worried about them falling off.

Things we like

  • Various mounting solutions are available, including drilling and sticking them to your deck.
There were white and red/green lights available.
  • Excellent for canoes, kayaks, and bigger boats as well.
  • Solid and well-designed mechanical components
  • Excellent price tag

Things we don't like

  • Lacking complete water resistance
  • Not bright enough
