Pescador Pilot 12

Description

The Perception Pescador Pilot 12 is a kayak that offers pedal-driven performance at an unbelievable price. It features a comfortable lawn chair style mesh seat with 2-level seat adjustment and breathable mesh for ultimate all-day comfort and no pain. The Pilot drive pedal system can be fully recessed into the hull for zero draft, giving you the ability to navigate even shallow waters. The kayak is constructed with a leak-proof one-piece design and built-in buoyancy for added safety. It also offers large front and rear open storage for cooler, tackle, and other gear. With gear tracks, fish finder consoles, and 4 rod holders, this kayak is perfect for anglers. Additionally, it has integrated accessory rails on each gunwale for fish finders, rod holders, and other accessories.

The Perception Pescador Pilot 12 is not only a great kayak for recreational use but also serves as an excellent exercise option. It is especially suitable for individuals with physical disabilities seeking low impact resistance. Many users with physical disabilities have found this kayak to be an ideal choice. The pedal propeller system provides just the right gear ratio, allowing you to achieve impressive speeds with minimal effort. It offers stability that makes it difficult to flip, even when intentionally trying to do so. Users have reported spending an entire day on the water, pedaling and paddling, without any discomfort. The kayak's stability is also beneficial for towing others, as it can handle the weight of a tandem kayak without any issues. The only challenge is its weight, which is slightly heavier than the average kayak. However, there are solutions available to address this concern. Overall, kayaking with the Perception Pescador Pilot 12 is an enjoyable and addictive experience.

The kayak is delivered by the Distribution Center's independent carrier. They coordinate with customers to ensure a suitable delivery time. On the question of standing up and fishing from the kayak, it is realistic as long as you have good balance. Users have reported successfully casting and fishing while standing in front of their seat. The seat height provides a comfortable casting position, but some users prefer to sit while fishing. The Perception Pescador Pilot 12 is commonly used for fishing in the Laguna Madre outside of Corpus Christi.

The Perception Pescador Pilot 12 is a 2021 model, as indicated by the paperwork provided with the kayak. Some users have recently received this model and can confirm its designation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Would this be good for exercise? I'm a disabled vet living on a small lake and need to do low impact resistance.

This is a wonderful option! I too have a physical disability with my left leg due to a spinal injury. I picked this exact kayak for a low impact exercise option, and four years later I am so glad I did. I love taking my kayak out on the water. I have exclusively kayaked in coastal waters off the central coast of CA. The pedal propeller system is beautifully tuned to just the right gear ratio; you can reach an amazing speed with little effort. I usually spend the entire day (dawn till dusk) out on the water pedaling and paddling around. I've even towed my parents behind me when my father injured his shoulder on a trip. I didn't even notice the extra weight of a tandem kayak behind me. I've also found this kayak to be so stable I haven't yet been able to flip it, even when trying to flip the boat on purpose so I can practice righting it. Four years on the water and my family jokes that we don't know if my life jacket actually works because it's never gotten wet. I'm the only one in my family who hasn't been dumped from their boat at one time or another. The only difficulty this kayak presents is it's weight. It is fairly heavy for the average kayak (almost 100lbs for just the hull, no accessories), so be prepared. But there are solutions, you just have to think of them or look for them on the web. There's always an answer to every situation. And kayaking is best enjoyed by industrious, "MacGyver" spirited people who ready to come up with solutions to difficulties they encounter. I hope you try it, and I hope you enjoy it! Kayaking is a very enjoyable and very addictive experience.

How realistic is it to stand up and fish out of this?

As long as you have good balance - don't shift too much, I can cast and fish, but stand in front my seat with the pedal up for a hand hold, prefer just to sit, the seat is high enough to cast from, but can stand if I need to. I fish the Laguna Madre outside of Corpus Christi
