The Perception Kayaks Universal Fish Finder Transducer Mounting Plate is a must-have accessory for any kayak angler. This innovative mounting plate allows you to attach popular transducer units to your kayak without having to drill into the hull. This not only saves you time and effort but also helps to preserve the integrity of your kayak.
This mounting plate is specifically designed to work with Perception fishing kayaks featuring the “Fish Finder Console with transducer scupper.” The high-density polyethylene material used in its construction is extremely durable and can easily be drilled to accommodate the hole patterns for most transducer brackets.
Installation is quick and easy, thanks to the perfectly lined-up mounting holes that match the molded inserts on your Perception kayak. The mounting plate also features a recessed area on one side to accommodate backing hardware.
The Universal Transducer Mounting Plate comes with stainless steel mounting hardware and instructions, making the installation process hassle-free. However, it's important to note that mounting hardware for transducers is not included.
Another great feature of this mounting plate is that it is made in the USA, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and durability. You can trust that this product will hold up well to the rigors of kayak fishing.
In addition to being compatible with Perception fishing kayaks, the Universal Transducer Mounting Plate also works with certain models from Vibe Fishing Kayaks. These models include the Pescador Pro 100 & 120, Pilot 120, Outlaw 11.5, and Crank 10.
Now, let's address some common questions about the Perception Kayaks Universal Fish Finder Transducer Mounting Plate:
1. So how are they mounting the transducer to this plate like in the picture?
For the image, we first drilled mounting holes into the flat side of the plate for the bracket of the sonar unit and then bolted the sonar assembly directly to the plate. Next, we ran the power supply cord for the sonar unit up through the scupper hole and then bolted the plate directly inside of the transducer scupper using the molded-in threaded inserts embedded in the hull of the kayak.
2. I have a Garmin transducer. Does the plate have the "hinge" to connect the transducer to, or is it a flat slab of metal?
The plate is a flat piece of Starboard or Marineboard with a recess on one side that accommodates backing hardware. It comes with hardware for mounting it to Perception kayaks featuring a transducer scupper but does not come with additional components.
3. Should the transducer be placed with the wide part facing the back or front of the kayak?
The Mounting Plate is designed specifically for the following Perception model kayaks featuring a transducer scupper (Pescador Pro 100 & 120, Pilot 120, Outlaw 11.5, Crank 10). The recessed area on the hull bottom of these models has threaded inserts that line up with the mounting holes on the plate when positioned correctly. Basically, when mounting the plate, it should only fit in one direction.
