Abigail ScottBy Abigail Scott
I'm Abigail Scott, an author, adventurer, and mother of three. When I'm not navigating the beautiful chaos of motherhood, you can find me tackling the turbulent waters as a professional whitewater kayaker or scaling impressive rock faces as a climbing guide. The rush of adrenaline, whether from kayaking or climbing, is a feeling I cherish deeply. But the thrill doesn't stop there; I capture the breathtaking allure of nature through my lens as a professional photographer. And when I'm not submerged in the wild, my software engineering skills amplify my outdoor pursuits, allowing me to harness technology in unique ways. Through my writings, whether articles or blog posts, I share not just my adventures but my heart, hoping to spark a flame of inspiration in others to break boundaries and experience the world's wonders.

Thru-Hiker Mesh House 1

Description

Why We Like The Thru-Hiker Mesh House 1

When embarking on a long-distance hike that lasts for months, every ounce counts. That's why we prefer the ultra-lightweight MSR Thru-Hiker Mesh House 1 over a bulky three-pound tent. This ten-ounce marvel provides excellent protection against bugs, which is essential when trekking through bug-infested areas like the High Sierras on the PCT or the buzzing Blue Ridge Mountains on the Appalachian Trail.

One of the standout features of the Thru-Hiker Mesh House 1 is its versatility. It can be easily pitched beneath MSR's Hiker 70 or 100 Wing (available separately) to shield you from both insects and the rain. Unlike traditional tents, this non-freestanding design eliminates the need for dedicated poles, allowing you to use your trekking poles to reduce weight even further. To ensure stability, the Thru-Hiker comes with six MSR Needle stakes that securely anchor the shelter.
