How close to the ceiling can you get the kayak? - I bought this system for my husband and his sea kayak (16 ft). He can lift the kayak to touching if he wanted to. It will get very close.
If i have a 10 foot ceiling with the 10 foot kit, can the kayak be lifted and lowered all the way to ceiling and ground? - absolutely. I have a 10' ceiling with my canoe on it now. I actually only lower it to waist lever because then I don't need to pick it up... but, there is plenty of line to gently lower it to the floor. This is a very well designed/manufactured piece of equipment.
Will this work on angled ceilings? - Yes. You just need the two points of contact to be level with one another... actually four points of contact. Shouldn't be a big deal at all. The canoe will hang level as long as you tie off each line to the same height above the floor. You'll get it when you start putting it up. Not a problem.
In which country are they manufactured and assembled? - I don't know which country the components are manufactured for this canoe lift, but I can tell you this with 100% confidence, Harken makes top of the line gear. I'm a competitive sailor and use nothing but Harken blocks (pulleys) on my boats. I don't know of any better company manufacturing sailing "hardware." I own this lift and trust it to a strip canoe that I spent a year building.. you won't go wrong, this is a brilliant design and I wouldn't hoist my canoe up with anything else. Hope that helps. Get it, install it and you'll find yourself saying "Hey neighbor, check this out." You can run your canoe up in seconds, then lower it back down just as easily if you forget something. And... it won't "DROP" your canoe. Enough already. *no affiliation with Harken in any way shape or form.
