Yakima TopWater Rod Box

Yakima TopWater Rod Box

Description

Ready to go when the fish are biting? The Yakima TopWater Rooftop Fishing Rod Box is a purpose-built fishing rod box that can store up to 8 fishing rods, each up to 8 ft. long, fully rigged, organized, and ready to go. Whether you use spin, baitcasting, or fly rods, this fishing rod box has protective foam pads and retention straps to keep your rods and reels safely suspended in place without getting banged around or entangled. The space below your rods also provides room for low-profile tackle boxes or other wet gear. Made in the USA, this fishing rod box is strong and rugged, and it can be locked with the included YAKIMA SKS (Single Key System) lock. Plus, the universal attachment system allows you to secure the TopWater to nearly any roof rack or YAKIMA's EasyRider and RACKandROLL trailers.

Your fishing buddy: A purpose-built fishing rod box that stores up to 8 fishing rods, each up to 8 feet long, fully rigged, organized, and ready to cast.

Highly functional: The side opening of the TopWater provides easy access to rigged-up fishing rods, while the space below the rods is perfect for low-profile tackle boxes and other gear.

Kind to your gear: The box includes protective foam pads with individual rod slots to keep your rods safe. Additionally, small drain holes help prevent water from pooling in the box, and built-in rod shields protect the rod tips from damage.

Highly compatible: The universal mounting hardware of the TopWater fits all YAKIMA crossbars and most other roof racks. You can also add the SmarT-Slot Kit (sold separately) to attach it to a T-slot crossbar for an even sleeker profile.

Single Key System: The included YAKIMA SKS lock not only secures the rods inside the TopWater but also locks the TopWater to the roof rack.

I just wanna know how far apart the spacing is on the brackets so I can see if it'll fit on my car. Per the Yakima website: The minimum crossbar spread is 27.00 inches, and the maximum crossbar spread is 81.00 inches. I've got my bars about 38" apart, and it works fine.

Under the box, there are 3 channels. One channel is slotted for the connections, and another has a support rod. Should there be 2 support rods? Mine only had one. Two would be nice, but I've had it for several months with no issues.

Will this fit on the roof of a 2016 Chevy Equinox with the Yakima Jetstream roof crossbars? As long as you have the minimum spread of 27" between bars, it should fit. However, it may hang quite far over the front of the Equinox. Fortunately, there's a metal bar along the bottom of the TopWater to hold the weight and keep it from bouncing.
