YAKIMA KeelOver Canoe Rack

YAKIMA KeelOver Canoe Rack

Description

The YAKIMA KeelOver Rooftop Mounted Canoe Rack is a convenient and efficient solution for transporting your canoe. With a quick and tool-free assembly, this rack attaches directly to any roof rack, allowing you to hit the water in no time. Weighing only 3.50 lbs and measuring L 14.00 in x W 7.50 in x H 3.25 in, it is lightweight and compact.

One of the key features of the KeelOver is its versatility. It is designed to carry one canoe and can be easily installed on round, square, factory, and aerodynamic bars. Whether your canoe is under 14' or over 14', this rack can accommodate it, with a minimum crossbar spread of 24' for smaller boats and 30' for larger ones.

The package includes all the necessary hardware, straps, and bow/stern tie-downs to securely fasten your canoe. The over-molded rubber on the rack provides stability and cushioning for the gunwale (upper edges) of your canoe. Additionally, it serves as protection for your crossbars, preventing damage or corrosion.

Installation of the KeelOver is a breeze, with a simple and tool-free assembly that can be completed within minutes. The included dual bolts ensure a secure and integrated fit. For compatibility, you can refer to the Yakima Fit My Car Tool.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Any reason this wouldn't work for a sit on top kayak carried hull side up?

I would not recommend the Yakima KeelOver Canoe Racks for a sit-on-top kayak. The profile of the clamps is designed to accept the gunwales of a canoe. Sit-on-top kayaks typically have rounded gunwales which won't fit the KeelOver profile.

Will this work for a 2018 Chevy Equinox with factory cross rails?

I use it on a Subaru Outback with the factory roof rack. A 16-17 foot canoe. Works well. Hope this helps.

Does this fit HD bars?

I have Overhaul HD truck rack, and it fits well as a clamp. There is no way I can figure to use the T slots.

Can this be mounted on a Yakima Loadwarrior Basket for carrying a canoe, or is there a different canoe accessory for that?

I would say possibly, the rails on the Loadwarrior may be appropriately sized. If it's the same as a round crossbar, it will be fine.
