Description

Venterior Portable Fish Finder Kayak is a great tool for any fishing enthusiast. It provides valuable information about what is in the water, including water depth, approximate fish location, fish size, weeds, and bottom composition like sand and rocks.

This fish finder is suitable for fishing from a kayak, off the dock, and even ice fishing. It can be used on a moving kayak with a speed below 5mph. Whether you are fishing in fresh water or salt/sea water, this fish finder will deliver accurate results.

The Venterior Portable Fish Finder is incredibly easy to use. Simply toss the transducer into the water and turn on the display unit. It will show you the water depth and approximate fish depth if fish schools are passing by. It has various user-selectable features like sensitivity, battery save mode, backlight mode, fish alarm, and unit of measure. The settings can be saved when the unit is turned off.

Portability is another great feature of this fish finder. It comes with a neck strap that allows you to wear it around your neck while you're busy on the kayak. FAQs:

Will it work for ice fishing?

It could be used for ice fishing. When using for ice fishing, it is suggested to drill a hole in the ice and put the sensor into the water. The bigger the hole and the longer the distance between float and sonar, the better to reduce the influence of ice. If you want to detect before drilling on ice, remove the snow from the ice surface and put some water on it. Make sure there is no air between the sonar sensor and ice or water below the ice for proper functioning.

Will this work fishing in the jetty?

Yes, the fish finder could work if the water depth is more than 1M. However, it may not work in swamps with a great deal of silt since suspended silt affects the signal. Excessive bubbles in the water can also affect the signal.

Can you use it from the shore?

Yes, you can throw it out with a buoy and get the depth.

Does the display light up at night?

Yes, the display does light up at night. However, note that the function is done through the settings, and the settings do not save. Therefore, each time the unit turns off, the settings are lost. This frequent resetting may be an inconvenience. An additional side note is that the light only stays on for about 1 second.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it work for ice fishing?

It could be used for ice fishing. When using for ice fishing, it is suggested to drill hole on ice and put the sensor into the water. The hole on the ice would be better to be bigger, and the distance between float and sonar to be lengthen, to reduce the influence of ice. If you want to detect before drilling on ice, please remove the snow on ice to make sure the ice surface is smooth, and put some water on ice before you put the sensor onto it.If there is any air between the sonar sensor and ice, or the water below the ice, the unit will not work properly and will require you to try another spot, or cut a hole in the ice to use. Hope my answer is helpful.

Will this work fishing in the jetty

Thank you for asking, Yes. The fish finder could work if the water depth is more than 1M. But it could not work in swamps that has great deal of silt. Because suspended silt will affect the signal. And if there are too many bubbles in the water, the bubbles will also affect the signal. Hope my answer is helpful.

Can you use it from the shore

Yes, you can throw it out with the buoy and get the depth.

Does the display light up at night.

Yes, but what they don't tell you is this function is done through the settings. The setting do not save, so each time the unit clocks off about very 10 minutes the setting are lost. I would not recommend this unit because of all the resetting you have to do. Side note the light only stays on for about 1 second.
