TOUGH-GRID 750lb Paracord - Genuine Mil Spec

TOUGH-GRID 750lb Paracord - Genuine Mil Spec

Description

The TOUGH-GRID 750lb Paracord/Parachute Cord is a genuine mil-spec type IV paracord that is used by the US military (MIl-C-5040-H). This cord is made from 100% nylon and is known for its strength and durability. It is a versatile product that can be used in various situations.

One of the great features of this paracord is how it is packaged according to length. The 50, 100, and 150 footers come coiled in bags, while the 200 footers are packaged on tubes. The 500 and 1000 footers are wound on a spool. It is important to note that the 1000 footers may come in up to 2 non-spliced sections.

The cord has a diameter that measures between 5/32 inch and 3/16 inch, or 3.97 millimeters and 4.76 millimeters, with a tolerance of plus or minus 1/32 inch. It is made up of 11 inner triple strands, which adds to its strength and reliability. This cord is designed to withstand tough conditions and can be trusted in various outdoor activities.

The TOUGH-GRID 750lb Paracord/Parachute Cord is highly recommended by expert veterans. It has the potential to change the way you camp, hike, and survive. What's more, this product is proudly made in the USA. It is perfect for sheltering in place, camping, hiking, bug out bags, vehicles, and paracord crafting.

Now let's address some frequently asked questions about this paracord:

Is the 1000ft available on 1 continuous spool?

Yes, the 1000 footers are available on 1 continuous spool, but this is considered a special order. TOUGH-GRID ensures that the shortest section is never less than 300 feet, and if there are 2 sections, they are never spliced together. However, it is important to note that most of their 1000 footers are continuous. Guaranteeing all 1000 footers as continuous would be expensive and burdensome for both the company and customers.

Can this rope be used for swings?

This paracord is not recommended for use in swings. It has a significant amount of stretch, as required by military specifications. If used for a swing, it will soon stretch to the ground. Moreover, the working load limit of any cordage is about 20%-25% of its tensile strength, which may not be suitable for the stress and load swings require. TOUGH-GRID suggests using their "Ultra-Cord" made of UHMWPE for swing applications.

What is the cord diameter?

The cord diameter measures 3/16" (+/- 1/32").

What are the dimensions of the 200 foot spool?

The 200 footers come shrink-wrapped on a tube and measure 6.5" x 3.5" (cylindrical).

Overall, the TOUGH-GRID 750lb Paracord/Parachute Cord is a reliable and versatile product, trusted by the US military. It is crafted with high-quality nylon and is perfect for various outdoor activities and survival situations. Its strength, durability, and packaging options make it a great choice for anyone looking for reliable paracord.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 1000ft available on 1 continuous spool?

Hi Craig, Yes... but only as a special order so we make sure and get it right. There is sort of a long and complicated answer for this question but give me a call if you really want a continuous 1000 footer. That said; most of our 1000 footers are continuous and the shortest section is never less than 300Ft. and IF there are 2 sections, they are NEVER spliced together. All our other sizes are Guaranteed Continuous. We find it to be very rare that someone actually needs 1000Ft. continuous but do our best to accommodate them as needed. If we were to guarantee all 1000 footers as continuous it would be very expensive on our end and to our customers and we just don't want to do that to folks. All the Best, Bill... Tough-grid 750lb paracord / paraccan this rope, can it be use for swings?

Thanks for your question! One of the key attributes of all mil-spec paracord is the amount of stretch it has. The military requires it to have 30%+ stretch, so if you were to use this cord for a swing, it would soon stretch to the ground. Another thing to think about is the working load limit. With all ropes, chains, cords, etc., there is a "tensile strength" and a "working load limit". Generally speaking, the working load limit of any cordage is about 20%-25% of the tensile strength. If you wanted to use this cord for a swing, you would definitely want to triple-braid it, but the stretch alone will cause more problems than anything. Another option is our "Ultra-Cord". It's made of UHMWPE (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) and only has about 3% stretch which is extremely low... it also has a 5,000lb breaking strength, so one section on each side of the swing would be more than enough.
