I'm Abigail Scott, an author, adventurer, and mother of three. When I'm not navigating the beautiful chaos of motherhood, you can find me tackling the turbulent waters as a professional whitewater kayaker or scaling impressive rock faces as a climbing guide. The rush of adrenaline, whether from kayaking or climbing, is a feeling I cherish deeply. But the thrill doesn't stop there; I capture the breathtaking allure of nature through my lens as a professional photographer. And when I'm not submerged in the wild, my software engineering skills amplify my outdoor pursuits, allowing me to harness technology in unique ways. Through my writings, whether articles or blog posts, I share not just my adventures but my heart, hoping to spark a flame of inspiration in others to break boundaries and experience the world's wonders.

Stohlquist Child PFD Life Jacket

Stohlquist Child PFD Life Jacket

Description

Keep your young swimmer safe with the comfortable and durable Stohlquist kid's life jacket. Designed for children weighing from 30 to 50 lbs and available in three colors this life vest features wrap-around floatation that holds a child upright in the water. Easy-to-use front zipper and nylon crotch and waist straps with side-release buckles secure PFD comfortably, preventing ride-up. Whether they're sailing, fishing, kayaking or swimming, this US Coast Guard approved PFD delivers superior comfort and keeps the youngest ones safe in the water.

FEEL COMFORTABLE IN THE WATER - Made of soft foam for maximum comfort, this child personal floatation device comes with a convenient grab collar for easy retrieval. The head support collar offers the security for them to play and be happy in the water

BUCKLE UP - The single quick release front buckle provides added security and even has an adjustable crotch strap to fit any size. You'll notice the durability of this kids life jacket from the box stitched buckle attachment that'll have you using this for years to come

FEEL THE MOVEMENT - Life vests can be irritating for children. That's why we've made sure to design this kids PFD with full arm mobility so you can enjoy watching them play and swim

SAFETY FIRST - Floating in a calm, “face-up” position is not something that comes naturally to children. Before going boating, teach your child how to float safely in a pool or shallow water where the child cannot touch bottom

BORN IN THE WATER - Stohlquist products are the result of a lifetime of hands-on paddling and entrepreneurial spirit of founder Jim Stohlquist. Each model we offer follows the lineage of 40+ years of product innovation and refinement to provide our customers with the best WaterWare available today

What rating (Type) is this life vest? Child type III

How does the zipper hold up? The zipper is strong. I don't know how long it will hold up because it's used infrequently-not every day use.

My child is 14 months old, 30lbs, and 33 inches tall. Should I get the small or large sized vest since he’s right on the borderline for weight? I would go with the small. A to one large life jacket is a hazard.

I’m going to be putting a 1 month old in the jacket. Size wise it will work, but I’m worried about head control and overall comfort, will this work? NO, I would not buy this again. The vest didn't keep my kid up, and it pushed his head into the water face first. I kept it only because this year my kid will be 3 and he should be able to handle the vest. For the amount of money spent I was thinking it was going to be a really good one. it's NOT.

Things we like

  • Great for kids 30-50 pounds
  • Exceptional precautionary measures
  • Single crotch straps with a quick release buckle

Things we don't like
