Abigail ScottBy Abigail Scott
I'm Abigail Scott, an author, adventurer, and mother of three. When I'm not navigating the beautiful chaos of motherhood, you can find me tackling the turbulent waters as a professional whitewater kayaker or scaling impressive rock faces as a climbing guide. The rush of adrenaline, whether from kayaking or climbing, is a feeling I cherish deeply. But the thrill doesn't stop there; I capture the breathtaking allure of nature through my lens as a professional photographer. And when I'm not submerged in the wild, my software engineering skills amplify my outdoor pursuits, allowing me to harness technology in unique ways. Through my writings, whether articles or blog posts, I share not just my adventures but my heart, hoping to spark a flame of inspiration in others to break boundaries and experience the world's wonders.

Description

Why We Like The Osprey Exos Pro 55L Backpack

To optimize weight and comfort for our longest through-hikes, Osprey fine-tuned the Exos to create the Exos Pro 55L Backpack. This backpack is designed with ultralightness in mind, shedding nearly a pound off the original weight and even more when the lid is removed. From the inside out, this backpack offers supportive features that allow us to manage a week's load and adjust capacity, balance, and organization as needed.

Osprey's comfort-focused carrying system starts with their AirSpeed suspension. The tensioned-mesh back panel provides a supportive fit and ample space for cool airflow on long hikes. The lumbar area is enhanced with a silicone print that helps the hip belt grip more steadily, so the foam belt can stretch and move with our hips without slipping. The spacer mesh shoulder straps are also ventilated, ensuring airflow all around our torsos.

Details

  • An optimized and ultralight backpack specifically designed for through-hiking
  • With a 55-liter capacity, it can hold up to 30 pounds of equipment
  • The tensioned mesh back panel lifts the load, enhancing airflow and load balance
  • The ExoForm harness and hip belt use EVA foam for a dynamic fit and extra padding
  • The removable lid reduces weight and capacity for lighter trips
  • The FlapJacket covers the top access when the lid is removed
  • Internal and external compression straps stabilize the load
  • Webbing lash points, compression pockets, and ice axe loops secure additional equipment
