FAQs:

Are these rechargeable?

No, the MOICO Long Range 2pk Walkie Talkies are not rechargeable. They require batteries.

We are not tech-savvy and have had trouble setting up other walkie talkies. Is this easy to set up?

I found them super easy to set up, and I didn't even need to look at the directions. If you're experiencing difficulties, it's possible that your previous walkie talkies were defective. Please provide more details about the problems you encountered.

Will these work a half mile away in a gorge (not line of sight)?

I can't guarantee their performance in such conditions. Radio waves at the frequency of these devices don't penetrate thick obstacles easily. While they may reflect off surfaces along the propagation path, this mode of propagation involves multipath and is subject to "fading" where the signal drops out randomly. These walkie talkies are great for many conditions, but line of sight is typically required.

Are they good for kayaking?

These walkie talkies may not be suitable for water sports. They are more suited for indoor use or outdoor activities where they won't be exposed to water. If you're looking for a device for kayaking, a wireless buzzer might be a better option.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these rechargeable?

No. Not rechargeable but takes batteries.

We are not tech savy, have had other walkie talkie and could not set the up. Is this easy to set up?

I found them super easy to set up, I don’t think I even looked at the directions. Could you state what problems you were having. Perhaps they were defective.

Will these work a half mile away in a gorge (not line of sight)?

I don’t really know for sure, but I would not count on it. Radio waves at the frequency of these devices do not penetrate through thick obstacles, though they will possibly reflect off surfaces along the propagation path. But that mode of propagation involves multipath and is highly dependent on the geometry between devices and subject to “fading” where the signal drops out randomly. These are good radios, inexpensive and handy in many conditions that are not so difficult, including communicating between vehicles driving in remote areas that don’t have good cell phone coverage. But line of site really is needed.

Good for kayaking?

They’re cheaply made and probably not good for outside water sports. We bought them so my slightly, invalid father could call us from his bedroom if he needed help in the night from his bedroom/bathroom, on the other side of our house. We had to insist he take his to the bathroom, when he went. In retrospect, a wireless buzzer would have done the job.
