CURADO K Baitcasting Reel

CURADO K Baitcasting Reel

Description

The CURADO K is a low-profile baitcasting reel that sets the standard for durability and reliability in tournament fishing. Anglers have trusted the CURADO for generations as their go-to reel.

One of the standout features of this reel is Shimano's latest technology, including the super smooth, efficient, and durable micromodule gearing. This technology ensures a smooth and powerful retrieve that lasts.

The CURADO K also features the SVS Infinity braking system, which provides easy-to-manage and consistent spool control and brake force. This allows for precision casting with lighter lures and precise adjustments when switching baits or fishing conditions change.

The reel utilizes X-Ship technology, which enhances durability and performance. With X-Ship, the CURADO K delivers a smoother and more powerful retrieve. This makes it suitable for both freshwater and saltwater action.

Key specifications of the CURADO K include a max drag of 11 lbs., a gear ratio of 7.4:1, a weight of 7.6 oz., and a line retrieve of 31'. It is equipped with 6BB + 1RB bearings and has a PowerPro line capacity of 30/190, 50/120, 65/80. The mono line capacity is 8/180, 10/155, 14/110. Additionally, this reel is designed for right-hand retrieve.

FAQs:

1. How do you know if it is left or right-handed? Shimano low-profile reels that end with "01" are left hand retrieve.

2. Where is it made? The CURADO K is made in Malaysia, not Japan.

3. Would this be good on a 7'4" heavy rod? This reel would be good on any rod. It offers solid and smooth performance.

4. Which fishing line would you use for this reel? I am debating between copolymer or braid. I personally use main braided line with a 10-foot fluorocarbon leader. The choice between copolymer and braid depends on the gear ratio and the intended fishing technique. For a gear ratio of 7.4:1, I recommend 30 lb braided line with a 12-14 lb fluorocarbon leader. For topwater frogs and pitching into grass and pads with a gear ratio of 8.5:1, 50-65 lb braided line is suitable. Adjust the leader strength based on water clarity, using 17-20 lb fluorocarbon or 20 lb mono for clear water and topwater lures like spooks, poppers, or whopper ploppers. It's worth noting that fishing preferences may vary among anglers. Good luck with your fishing endeavors, and the CURADO K is a great reel for the price!

I’m looking at the box right now and it says made in Malaysia, not Japan.

This reel would be good on any rod. Solid and smooth.

Which fishing line would you use for this reel? I am debating between copolymer or braid.

I use main braid and add about a ten foot fluro leader. However it depends what gear ratio you bought and what you are using the reel for. For the 7.4.1 I use 30 lb braid 12-14 lb fluro leader. I use this for all my jig set ups, rattle traps, spinner/ chatter bait ect 8.5.1 I’d use 50-65 lb braid for topwater frogs and for pitching and flipping into grass and pads. Also a heavier leader for clearer water but still to do the same technique17-20 pound fluro or 20 lb mono for a top water spook, popper or whopper plopperAny gear ratios 6.3..1 and under I use for cranking which then I sometimes use straight fluro 12-14 lb for 1/4- 3/8 oz square bills anything heavier use 15-17 lb fluro However this is all opinionated, every fisherman will tell you something different, however hopefully this helps. Good luck great reel for the price!
