Known as the "Rockfish Capital," Weldon, NC is a must-visit destination for anglers. Situated near the NC/VA border on the Roanoke River, it attracts numerous striped bass that migrate here for spawning. The prime months to pursue these fish are April and May. Weldon typically offers 30-70 striped bass per day, with catching over 100 fish being a frequent occurrence. Spinning gear with artificial lures is my preferred method for targeting these striped bass. However, fly fishing and live bait equipment are available upon request.
Weldon is the ideal destination for anglers of all levels. Kids can enjoy a consistent fishing experience, while experienced anglers can apply advanced techniques to their fishing.
