Newport Vessels L-Series 62lb Thrust Transom Mount

Description

Newport Vessels L-Series 62lb Thrust Transom Mounted is a 12v electric trolling motor that provides excellent power and efficiency for any boater. It is built with high-quality materials that allow the motor to run all day without overheating or making noise to spook fish.

This motor features a 40-inch shaft, a 10 LED battery meter, a 6-inch telescoping tiller handle, and a 3-blade propeller. You can adjust and lock the mount angle, height, and direction according to your needs.

The motor has 8 speeds, 5 forward and 3 reverse, and is designed for trolling. The top speed of the motor is about 4.25mph, but it can vary depending on your boat shape, weight, water, wind, and other factors. The 3-blade propeller provides great low-end torque to get your boat moving.

The 62lb motor requires one 12V Lead-Acid Deep Cycle or Lithium Deep Cycle battery (battery not included). We recommend a 50ah battery. To protect from battery voltage surges, the motor includes a 60amp circuit breaker that is recommended to be used at all times. The maximum Amp draw of the motor is 58A.

All Newport motors are made with high-quality stainless steel, magnesium, and zinc hardware to withstand both freshwater and saltwater environments. We back every product we make with industry-leading customer service and a 2-year warranty.

FAQs:

Q: Can we use a salt motor in fresh water?

A: All of our motors are built to be used in both fresh and salt water.

Q: Can this motor be used with a normal car dry battery 12V x 2 serial connected? What is the max AMP to be purchased that won't harm the motor?

A: You can use car batteries, but buying two new ones would be a waste of money because they don't have as much capacity as deep cycle batteries at the same price. The battery cannot have too many amps, as the motor draws what it needs. However, if the battery is too small and can't provide the peak 48 amps, it could wear out the battery faster.

Q: Does it come with the 50A breaker that is mentioned in the manual?

A: Yes, it does! We recently started incorporating complimentary 50 AMP circuit breakers with every purchase. If you have any other questions or need help with anything else, please contact us at (866) 721-0002! Our hours are Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4:30pm Pacific Standard Time.

Q: Which battery do you recommend for this motor?

A: Any main brand battery is compatible with our motors. You will need 2 x 12V Deep Cycle Marine batteries hooked up in series to operate the motor. The amount of Amperage Hour rating (Ah) will depend on the duration of use and your application. For more information, check out our article "Calculate Motor Run Time" on our website.
