I wouldn't attempt it. I have seen some You Tube folks have gerryrigged outriggers that would make it possible.

Are these good on the river too or are they more suited for lakes?

This kayak is amazing on a river. That is where my grandson and I go. Very stable. Sitting on top, it allows you to really dig in the water on a strong current. Can not really think of any body of water that this kayak can’t handle.
