Perception Expression 11.5 | Sit Inside Kayak

Description

The Perception Expression 11.5 is a top-quality touring kayak that offers an exceptional sit-inside experience. This kayak is perfect for those who are embarking on their first touring adventure and it is proudly made in the USA.

One of the standout features of the Perception Expression 11.5 is its adjustable premium seat. With extra-cushy ergonomic padding, this seat ensures maximum comfort during long paddling sessions. What sets it apart is that the seatback can be adjusted forwards, backwards, up, and down. Additionally, the tilt-adjust seat bottom provides excellent support for the thighs, enabling the perfect paddling position.

Another benefit of this kayak is its quick-adjust footrests. These footrests are designed to accommodate paddlers of all sizes, ensuring a comfortable and secure fit for everyone. Whether you're tall or short, you'll find the perfect position to enhance your paddling experience.

Storage is essential when it comes to touring kayaks, and the Perception Expression 11.5 has got you covered. It offers spacious dry storage for all your gear, allowing you to bring along everything you need for your adventure. Plus, the easy-entry cockpit is spray skirt compatible, offering added dryness and protection.

Now, let's address some frequently asked questions about the Perception Expression 11.5:

Is there a guard of some kind over the skeg opening to keep sand and rocks out of the skeg slot? I am physically limited and cannot lift/carry 44lbs.
The Skeg Box is open to allow the blade to easily deploy and retract while on the water. Sand and debris will usually only collect here if you are dragging the kayak to/from the water (please do not drag your kayak). Anything collected in this area can easily be rinsed out as well.

Is a rudder available on this model?
I have the 11.5' model. It does not have a rudder. The Expression also had 14.5 and 15' models. All three appear to have the retractable skeg but no rudder. The website describes them as "rudder capable" whatever that means.

How heavy is she?
I think around 50 lbs. I’m 5’4” and carry it by myself.

How high does the seat rise?
The seat does not rise, it sits flat on the bottom. It does have a bit more thickness than normal. The only adjustment is the back of the seat. You can make the back lean back a small bit or be straight. Not sure why it is described as adjustable. Not much different than my cheaper viper, just a little more padding and the back of the seat is a bit higher.
