Will it float if it goes overboard? Yes. The pump has a buoyant foam sleeve cover that floats.

Where does water get expelled from? Is there a side port near the handle like most other bilge pumps? I can't see one in the picture. Thanks. There’s a side port up by the handle. The water is expelled with each motion (up and down). May want to get some clear tubing to route the water where you want it to go (approx 2 feet).

What diameter should the hose be to attach? 1 inch inside diameter x 1 1/4 diameter clear tubing 24 inches long from the local hardware store that sells bulk tubing by the foot. Cut the end square and soak it in a cup of boiling water for about 5 seconds to soften the tubing and make it easy to slide over the pump output. 18 to 24 inches is the ideal length and depends on the beam of your kayak. Works like a charm...

Does this come apart to clean out debris? How is it held together? Don’t know, haven’t had to clean it out yet, but it works very well. Well made, IMO.
