Does this come with every thing i need to set it up? It doesn't have a battery

Can i confirm the meaning of inside hull or transom? does inside hull mean it can be mounted amidships through hull? This is for Kayak users. Inside Hull of Kayak or transom mounted outside.

How does it get power? 12 volt from the battery. The wire that connects to the battery is pretty short. I had to add a piece of wire.
