Here are some FAQs about the product:
How much clearance do I need between the roof rack crossbar and the roof of the vehicle? About two inches is needed to place the brackets on the crossbars.
What is the difference between the 305 and 315 models? The 305 and 315 models are identical in terms of the racks and ratchet tie downs. The difference lies in the addition of canoe ties in the 315 model. These ties attach to the bow and stern of a canoe and help stabilize it during transportation.
What is the benefit of transporting the kayak semi-upright like this instead of flat on an existing rack? Transporting the kayak in a semi-upright position saves space, allowing you to carry multiple kayaks. It also makes it easier to grab the kayak when it is in an upright position.
The ratchet strap ends included with this mount are too small to attach to the mount bars. How do you use them? Some customers have reported issues with the attachment devices not securing properly to their roof racks. It is recommended to ensure compatibility before purchase to avoid any issues.

305 and 315 models are identical in the racks and ratchet tie downs, what makes the 315 different from the 305 is the addition of canoe ties that attach to the bow and stern of a canoe; typically the canoe ties from the front bumper of the vehicle the rack is mounted, to the canoe. The stern of the canoe is tied to the rear bumper. This keeps the canoe from turning on top of the rack, stabilize the canoe.
It saves room so you can carry 2 kayaks and also easier to grab in the up right position
I experienced a similar fate. The attachment device did not secure to my Yackamier cross bar. Buying cheap did not payoff for me.
