His specialty is fly fishing in Southern Alberta, focusing on the world-renowned Bow River, known for its exceptional Trout fishing. Gene's goal is to help you catch the Brown Trout and Steelhead of a lifetime. Please note that all trips strictly adhere to catch and release practices – after capturing the moment with a photo, you'll bid farewell to the fish for another angler to pursue.

Choose from various trip options, including 6, 8, and 10-hour excursions, as well as 2-day packages. On the first day, Gene will take you to a pre-paid camping site that will be fully prepared for your arrival. His trailer and boat will be waiting for you there. After enjoying a hearty breakfast, you'll embark on a fishing adventure that typically lasts 10–12 hours before returning to camp.

At camp, you'll be treated to a delicious steak dinner with baked potatoes and salad. Captain Gene also offers beverages, including water, but you can bring your own beer if you prefer. On the second day, you'll explore a different section of the river, with all transportation provided.

Fishing takes place from a 16' Willie Boats drift boat, allowing you to float with the current while being equipped with top-of-the-line safety gear. The boat accommodates up to 2 adult anglers and a child. There's no minimum age requirement for children, but those 14 and younger must be accompanied by adults. Parents should bring a life jacket that their child feels comfortable wearing. Additionally, clients can bring their own waders and boots for wade fishing, but Gene has a limited selection available as well.

When it comes to equipment, Captain Gene provides high-quality fly fishing and conventional gear, exclusively using Loop rods and Hatch reels. Please note that spinning lures are not supplied, but Gene will be more than happy to offer recommendations on which ones to purchase (typically priced around $80).
