    Because it has the ability to open on both sides (a big plus) it doesn't open to a 90 degree angle which other boxes do. However, it does open to at least a 45 degree angle or more than 6 inches. The elbow mechanism might be stiff since it is new and you might have to try and push the gears open manually which might take a bit of a push.

    just ordered this and just arrived -- is there a "trick" to opening it? Once unlocked, it only opens about 6 inches or so...that can't be right.
