I am 66 and can get this canoe on and off my car top and into the water. It weighs around 50 maybe more. I haven't had to portage it. But, I like it. I find it tracks best when you use a kayak paddle. Fun little thing

Sure, just mount a couple of oar locks to the top rail and you are in business. or use a kayak paddle like I do. If you have the oars, you should be able to purchase oar locks for about 20 dollars.

Don't even think about it. Canoe is stable when sitting in the low slung seat, but very unstable when standing up. For more stability, you may want to look at the Old Town "Pack" model.
