Might be a stupid question but can I use this for a 9"2" longboard? Not an expert, but see no reason why not. Securing might be different than with kayak, but buckle straps are certainly flexible.

Can you use them with just parallel bars instead of cross bars? The base doesn't pivot, so I think they can only be used with cross bars.
