Hobie Mirage Sail Kit

Description

Hobie Mirage Sail Kit:

Enjoy added power without complications. The sail kit can be added to many different Hobie Mirage Kayak or Pro Angler models, and it makes sailing fun and easy.

Specifications:

  • The sail kit is available in five different color combinations.
  • The Sail Kit's two-piece mast, boomless sail and diagonal batten design allows the sail to be easily rolled and stowed in the included storage bag.

FAQs:

  • Does this kit include the mast? Yes, this has the mast. Note that this kit is only for the plastic Hobie Mirage drive kayaks.
  • What is the sail area? Here are the stats from Hobie: Height: 123 in / 312.42 cm, Sail Area: 20.25 sq. ft. / 1.88 sq m, Luff: 102".
  • Will this work with 2016 Hobie Tandem Oasis? Yup. Your 2016 is the same hull as my 2013. My wife and I love the sail kit. we live in California, so it required us to register the kayak as a sailing vessel. That said, we're still very happy with the purchase. It adds another dimension to our tandem Oasis. We don't have any solution for furling the sail, but will diy it over the Hobie one after much research (and real-world use). If you use the boat within the wind window that is specified, you're fine without it. I've taken the sail out in about 20 mile per hour winds, and while it's a handful, I didn't wind up in the water, even lacking outriggers. I hope that helps. Enjoy your boat.
  • Will this work with Hobie Compass? Yes, this will fit the Compass with no issues.
