Just received this helmet today and the first thing I did was check the flaps due to reading this question earlier. The answer is YES! There frame around the ear remains and is sturdy enough to provide some protection but the portion that completely covers the ear is an insert and is easily removed and replaced when needed.

Does it have some flat surface to stick a GoPro?

The front of the helmet still has slight curvature. But I’m not familiar with all the ways you can attach a GoPro, so if the surface needs to be completely flat, then no. However, if an attachment can handle slight curves, then possibly. Unfortunately, without knowing all GoPro prerequisites, I can’t give you a definite answer.
